What is Anagardens?
Anagardens is a progressive anagram game where each solved word becomes the foundation for the next puzzle. You form a word using all given letters plus one new blue "?" tile, then repeat with that word augmented by another blue tile. The puzzle grows letter by letter, transforming each answer into the next challenge.
How to play Anagardens
- Read the clue above the empty boxes. It describes the target word rather than giving a dictionary definition.
- Click tiles from the bank to place them in the boxes. The blue “?” tile supplies the letter that was missing from the previous level.
- Use Shuffle to rearrange the tile bank, Clear to reset the current level, or Show letter when you get stuck.
- Continue to the next level. Your validated word becomes the base for the next puzzle, and one additional blue tile increases its length by one letter.
How the puzzle grows
Anagardens removes the wastefulness common in anagram games. Solved grids are not thrown away. Each answer feeds the next level, creating a chain where nothing is discarded. The caterpillar icon and the game's name reflect this organic principle: the puzzle sprouts letter by letter like a plant. Because levels are linked, a single failure blocks progression rather than costing an isolated point.
Understanding the interface
The clue appears above empty boxes that show the expected word length. Clicked tiles leave the bank, where they remain visible in pale gray, and fill boxes from left to right. The tile count always matches the number of empty boxes, ensuring you use every letter including the blue "?".
Tips for steady progress
Shuffle breaks mental blocks. Because each level is a complete anagram of the available letters, reordering them on screen disrupts the misleading pattern you were following.
Show letter exists because the chain structure means being stuck on an early level prevents access to later ones. All letters from one level carry over to the next, so a single roadblock halts the entire sequence.
What is the blue "?" tile for?
It carries the new letter for the level. The target word uses all letters from the previous answer plus the one from the blue tile, lengthening the word by one at each step.
