What is Anagramle?
Anagramle combines a Scrabble board with a deduction grid. Every word you type and the target word must be valid Scrabble words. Each letter shows its point value, from A at 1 point to Q and Z at 10, and the board includes multiplier squares marked 2L, 2W, 3L, and 3W. Three counters track your current guess score, the target score, and remaining attempts.
How to play Anagramle
- Enter a valid Scrabble word with the virtual or physical keyboard.
- Press ENTER to flip the tiles and view colored feedback about each letter’s information value.
- Check your guess score against the target score at the top.
- Include the board’s multiplier squares when estimating potential scores.
- You have up to six attempts. Use the feedback and score differences to adjust each new guess.
Why the target score matters
The target score filters out entire word families before you type them. Letter values appear on each key, so you can eliminate candidates that cannot reach the required total. This creates tension between deduction logic, which favors common letters, and Scrabble logic, which rewards expensive letters and multipliers. The score tells you how much the word weighs without revealing its spelling.
Understanding the feedback
Three tile states show what each letter contributes: correctly placed, present but misplaced, and absent. When the target word exceeds seven letters, the game pre-fills extra positions with grey italic letters from the solution, since a Scrabble rack holds seven tiles. You always type exactly seven letters regardless of word length.
Game modes
DAILY: One grid per day per language, remembered by your browser.
PRACTICE: Accessible through the second button next to DAILY for unlimited rounds.
Tips for stronger guesses
The target score is a real filter. Calculate whether a candidate can reach that total using the printed letter values before typing. Multiplier squares change the score of the same word depending on board position, not the word itself.
Standard probe words from other deduction games may not work here since every guess must be a valid Scrabble word. Pre-filled grey letters are actual letters from the solution, not placeholders.
Common questions
Why are some letters already written in grey italics?
A Scrabble rack holds seven tiles. When the target exceeds seven letters, the game pre-fills extra positions with solution letters so you never type more than seven.
Does the game exist in other languages?
A flag selector in the top bar lets you change languages. The browser remembers your preference.
