What is Golfdle?
Golfdle is a daily word game structured as a three-hole golf course. Each hole hides a five-letter word with a declared par (4, 5 or 6) that indicates difficulty and the number of guesses you have to score well. You get seven guesses per hole, and the row where you solve the word determines your score—early finds earn birdies or eagles, late ones cost bogeys. Your three-hole total is compared against the course par.
How to play Golfdle
Enter a five-letter word and press Enter. The colors show whether each letter is in the correct position, appears elsewhere in the word, or is absent. The row label on the left shows the score that guess would earn if you solve the word on that row.
Solve all three holes in sequence. The scorecard at the top records each result and compares your total with par.
Why golf scoring matters
Golfdle assigns a cost to every guess, so solving on the second guess is different from solving on the fifth. The row labels update your score as you play, forcing a choice between attempting an early solve and playing for par. Tournament schedules also include titles and trophies.
Reading the feedback
The game provides two layers of information. Color tiles work exactly like a standard word puzzle, showing letter placement and presence. The left column displays golf terminology—hole-in-one, condor, albatross, birdie, par, bogey, double bogey, triple bogey—so you always know both how close you are to the word and how much each additional attempt costs your score.

Practice
Training days run Monday through Wednesday with a separate leaderboard tab.
Tournament
Thursday through Sunday, four rounds whose scores combine into a championship total. The rules specify that hole pars are identical for all players each day, but words differ player to player. Missing a round adds a penalty score.
Grand Cup
An ongoing ranking fed by tournament placements, reset quarterly in January, April, July and October.
Tips for better scores
A hole's par is not decoration. A par 6 signals a tougher word but gives more guesses to stay under par. A par 4 promises an easier word with almost no margin.
Without an account, nothing saves. Log in before playing if you want leaderboard placement, streaks or tournament scores recorded.
The weekly schedule shapes strategy. Tournaments run Thursday through Sunday, other days are practice, and skipping a tournament round counts as a penalty score in the final standings.
