What is Invertle?
Invertle is a five-letter deduction puzzle. You have six guesses to find the hidden combination. Each guess must be a complete word. After you submit one, choose a column to inspect. That position receives a higher-or-lower hint, while exact matches appear across the board.
How to play Invertle
- Enter a five-letter word and press Enter.
- Select a column to inspect that letter position.
- Read the hint: ↑ means the correct letter comes later in the alphabet, ↓ means it comes earlier, and a teal tile marks an exact match.
- Use the hints to narrow down the possible letters.
- Keep guessing until you find the combination or use all six attempts.
Reading the feedback
Feedback appears per column. An up arrow (↑) means the correct letter is higher in the alphabet. A down arrow (↓) means it is lower. A teal tile marks an exact match and reveals that letter. The interface also shows when a letter is eliminated for a particular column.
Tips for focused deduction
Use the column mechanic like a binary search. Each higher/lower divide significantly reduces the possible letters for that position. Try guesses that could produce exact matches to immediately lock letters and narrow the remaining columns.
When a column shows an arrow, choose subsequent letters that halve the remaining alphabet range for that column. This method optimizes the information gained from each guess and increases the chance of cracking the combination within six attempts.
Modes
Invertle offers a daily challenge and an endless practice mode. The daily puzzle is shared across all players. Endless mode allows unlimited rounds for players who want to practice the deduction mechanic without waiting for the next daily reset.
