What is Lexathon?
Lexathon is a free browser word game built around hidden five-letter words. It has an endless run, head-to-head play, a free-for-all, and a shared daily puzzle of ten words.
How to play Lexathon
- Type a five-letter dictionary word and press Enter. You get five guesses per word.
- Read the tiles. Cyan means right letter, right place. Magenta means the letter is in the word elsewhere. Grey means it is absent. Colour-blind mode swaps cyan and magenta for blue and orange.
- Score by how early you solve: 500, 250, 150, 50, or 10 points for guesses one through five.
- In Standard, keep going and cash out to bank the run. You start with one Continue. A miss after that Continue is gone ends the run and wipes the unbanked score.
- In Gauntlet, play the daily ten words. Everyone gets the same list. It resets at midnight Eastern. A missed word scores nothing and the next word starts.
- In Clash, race one opponent for seven minutes on the same word list. A 1,000-point lead ends the match. Otherwise the clock decides. Two skips are available. A miss costs 50 points rather than ending the run.
- In FFA, the same seven-minute race runs for three to six players, with no early knockout. Placement pays on a fixed table, and last place earns nothing.
Bank the run before it disappears
Standard is a cash-out decision, not a high-score chase. A banked 4,000 beats an unbanked 12,000. Clash and FFA keep separate ratings, both starting at 1,000. Public matches move MMR. Private rooms do not.
A guest profile stays in that browser only. Linking Google or email keeps wallet, rank, cosmetics, and stats. Shop items are cosmetic and do not change scoring.
