What is Parley?
Parley is a daily word game that turns translation into a strategic resource. You must guess five English words using hints from twelve languages: Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Turkish, Swedish, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Arabic. Each language can be used only once across all five words, so every translation you reveal must count.
How to play Parley
- Check the blank tiles and category label for the current word, shown as “Word 1 of 5.”
- Tap a flag to see the translation in that language and hear it pronounced.
- Enter your answer in English, then tap Guess.
- Continue to the next word. The same twelve languages are available for all five words, and the counter shows how many words remain.
- Complete all five words. Your score is based on the number of hints you use, up to a maximum of 15 points. Languages set the challenge; there is no limit on attempts.
Wrong guesses reveal letters in the current word but do not consume a language. The languages counter stays unchanged. This separation means you can type freely to test ideas, but opening a flag is a permanent choice. Save the languages you read best for the hardest words, and resist opening a flag out of curiosity on an easy word.
Strategy tips
Use the category label as your first free hint. It bounds the semantic field before you spend a single language. When a word resists, open a language you can recognize easily rather than one you might misread. If a translation looks unfamiliar, the audio playback and the partial letters from wrong guesses can help you bridge the gap to the English answer.
The game offers a single daily puzzle with no practice mode. Approach each flag tap as a decision you will live with for the rest of the round.
