What is Quotedle?
Quotedle presents the opening of a famous quotation and removes its last five words. A pool of around thirty uppercase words appears below, mixing the correct ones with deliberate decoys. You must select five words from this pool and arrange them in the correct order. Unlike letter-based puzzles, the unit you work with is the word itself, so the typical error is placement rather than omission. The daily quotation is identical for all players worldwide.
How to play Quotedle
- Read the quotation excerpt at the top. Its final five words are hidden.
- Choose five words from the pool, which includes misleading extras.
- Drag the words into the five empty slots in order, then select Guess. Select Clear to empty the line before submitting.
- Use the three-color feedback to adjust your guesses. You have six attempts.
- When you finish, select Share to copy a spoiler-free results grid to your clipboard.
Reading the feedback
Three colors apply to whole words, not individual letters. Green means the word is correct and in the right position. Yellow means the word belongs in the answer but sits in the wrong slot. Gray means the word is a decoy and does not appear in the quotation at all. The Tries counter at the bottom tracks your six attempts.
