What is Reversle?
Reversle is a backwards Wordle-style puzzle. Instead of discovering a hidden word, you are shown a five-letter solution word and colored constraints, then must construct four different five-letter words that satisfy the required color pattern in each row. Each row is an independent mini-puzzle.
How to play Reversle
- Read the displayed solution word and the color pattern for a row.
- Enter a five-letter word that meets every positional rule for that row.
- Repeat for the four independent rows. Solving all four words wins the puzzle.
Why play Reversle?
Choose Reversle if conventional Wordle feedback feels too familiar. It reverses the inference problem: the answer word is known, but you must reason from its color constraints to generate valid alternatives.
Reading the feedback
The colors show how each guessed letter relates to the solution. One means the letter is correct and in the right position. Another means the letter appears in the solution but is in the wrong position. The third means the letter does not appear in the solution. Statistics track solve times, the current streak, and the best streak.
The current puzzle is a four-row backwards-word puzzle based on a displayed five-letter solution word. The game's welcome notice says that archived puzzles are available to play.
Treat the four rows independently. A word that fits one pattern may not help with another.
For each colored square, separate position constraints from membership constraints before searching for a word. Handle duplicate letters exactly as the help page explains: if the pattern requires a repeated letter, the word must contain it the required number of times.
To win Reversle, find the five-letter solution word and four additional five-letter words that match the colored patterns, one for each row.
The normal duplicate-letter rule still applies. If a color pattern requires a letter twice, your answer must contain that letter twice.
