What is Football Wordle?
Football Wordle is a letter-guessing game that replaces dictionary words with footballer names. Each day presents a mystery player from one of Europe's five major leagues—Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, or Ligue 1. The grid length varies with the name, and every guess must be a valid player from those leagues. You have six attempts to identify the target.
How to play Football Wordle
- Open footballwordle.com. The grid has one column for each letter in the target name.
- Enter a player’s name with the on-screen keyboard. Use DELETE to correct mistakes.
- Press ENTER to submit. The guess must be a player from one of the five big leagues.
- Check the tile colors: green means the letter is in the correct position, orange means it appears elsewhere in the name, and dark means it does not appear in the name.
- After three guesses, use the hint to reveal one letter of the target name.
- Once you solve the puzzle, share your result with the “Send to a friend” button.
Unlike standard five-letter grids, Football Wordle changes name length daily. This removes the fixed-tile rhythm players rely on in classic word games. The variable length forces you to think about letter patterns within a footballer's name rather than falling back on word-building habits. Tips for narrowing down the name
Choose your first guess carefully. Because every entry must be a real player, you cannot burn a turn on a vowel-heavy nonsense word. Pick a common name that covers frequent letters.
Use the name length as your first filter. Before considering individual letters, eliminate players whose names are too short or too long.
Wait for the hint if you are stuck between two candidates after two tries. A third guess, even if imperfect, unlocks a free letter that may resolve the ambiguity.
