What is Guess The NBA Player?
Guess The NBA Player is a daily puzzle where you identify a mystery player from a pool of approximately 1500 NBA players. You submit guesses by typing player names and receive tile-based feedback indicating exact matches, near matches, or no match. You have ten guesses and can unlock one hint after five attempts.
How to play Guess The NBA Player
- Type any player name into the search field and select a name from the dropdown to submit your guess.
- Read the result tiles that appear. Each tile shows MATCH for exact, CLOSE for near, or NO MATCH for wrong. Arrows on tiles point toward the correct answer.
- Use the tile feedback to refine your next guess. Focus on the attributes that produced MATCH or CLOSE results.
- After five guesses the Hint button unlocks. You may reveal one detail: Division, Team, or Draft year.
- Tap Give Up to reveal the answer if you cannot solve the puzzle. This counts as a loss.
Reading the feedback tiles
Each submitted guess returns tiles for different attributes such as team, draft year, position, jersey number, division, and country. MATCH means your guess shares the exact value with the mystery player. CLOSE means the value is near. NO MATCH means the value does not align. Arrows indicate the direction of the correct answer, helping you adjust numeric or ordered attributes like draft year or jersey number.

Begin with familiar players so the first tiles give you useful information. Use MATCH and CLOSE to rule out candidates and decide which attributes to test in your next guess. Hold the Hint until you have made five guesses, unless you already know which detail is most likely to narrow the field. Giving up counts as a loss, so use all ten guesses when it makes sense.
