What is LoLdle?

LoLdle is a daily guessing game based on League of Legends champions. Each of its five permanent modes hides a champion that changes every 24 hours. Classic presents an attribute grid where you type a champion name and each row reveals properties like gender, position, species, resource, range type, regions, and release year, with tiles coloured green, orange, or red and an arrow on the year. Quote asks which champion says a voice line. Ability shows a single spell icon without its name. Emoji reveals one more emoji per attempt. Splash displays a cropped section of a champion skin's splash art that zooms out after each guess. Guesses are unlimited; the goal is fewest tries. The page tracks how many players have found the daily champion and displays yesterday's answer. Statistics and streaks are stored locally, with an export token to transfer them to another device. The game is also available on iOS and Android.

How to play LoLdle

  1. Select a mode from the menu: Classic, Quote, Ability, Emoji, or Splash.
  2. In Classic, type a champion name in the input box and select it from the suggestions to reveal a row of properties.
  3. Read the tile colours: green is an exact match, orange a partial match on properties like Position(s) or Region(s), red no overlap, and the arrow on release year indicates whether the answer is higher or lower.
  4. Continue guessing to narrow the properties; after several guesses, clues unlock such as a random quote, a spell icon, or a cropped splash art.
  5. Once you find the champion, follow the Next mode prompt to try the other modes, then check your statistics and streak.

Why play LoLdle?

LoLdle is for League of Legends players. The Classic grid requires knowledge of champion resources, regions, and release years. The other modes depend on recognising voice lines, spell icons, or slices of splash art. If you do not know the roster, there is nothing to reason from. It suits daily players who enjoy tracking stats like streaks, average guesses, and one-shot counts, alongside a shared counter of the day's finders. Skip it if you want a puzzle solvable from general knowledge. A session is one pass through the five modes, chained by a Next mode prompt.

Reading the feedback

In Classic, each guess adds a row of coloured tiles. Green means an exact match. Orange means a partial match: one or more, but not all, values match for properties such as positions, species, or regions. Red means there is no overlap. An arrow beside the release year points up when the correct value is higher and down when it is lower. Other modes reveal another clue after each attempt: Emoji adds one emoji, Splash zooms out, and Quote unlocks the audio line after you guess correctly. A win shows your rank among that day’s finders and your number of tries. A first-try win is a One Shot.

Modes

Classic

Enter a champion’s name to reveal its gender, positions, species, resource, range type, regions, and release year. Each result is coloured, and more clues appear after several guesses.

Quote

Guess the champion who says a line from the game or from champion select. The audio becomes available after you guess correctly.

Ability

Guess the champion from a spell icon with its name hidden. A bonus question then asks whether the spell is the Passive, Q, W, E, or R. The Challenger option adds a grey filter and rotates the image randomly.

Emoji

Guess the champion from a sequence of emojis. Each try reveals one more, and everyone gets the same sequence.

Splash

Guess the champion from a cropped section of a splash art, using either the default look or a skin. Each try zooms out slightly. A bonus question asks for the splash art’s name.

Worlds Mayhem

In this temporary event mode, choose teams and players, assign roles over five rounds, and build a roster to win the cup.

Tips for fewer guesses

In Classic, open with a champion that has unusual properties, such as an early release year, a rare resource, or a distinctive region. The first row can then rule out much of the roster.

Orange on Position(s), Species, or Region(s) is precise. These columns can contain several values, so orange means the target shares some of yours, but not all of them.

Use the release-year arrow to set a bracket. Guess once near each end of the range, which runs from 2009 to today, and you can narrow down the year quickly.

Range type has only three values: Melee, Ranged, and Melee Ranged. A red result rules out an entire category.

In Emoji and Splash, each extra try reveals more: another emoji or a wider crop. A quick guess can sometimes provide more information than staring at the image.

Classic unlocks more clues after several guesses. If you are stuck, one additional guess may reveal a quote or spell icon and give you a useful lead.

Common questions

Do I need an account?

No. Statistics and streaks stay on the device. The settings also provide an export token that is valid for 24 hours, so you can import them on another device.

How many guesses do I get?

There is no limit. The goal is to solve the game in as few tries as possible. Statistics track your average guesses, guesses per game, and one-shot wins.

When does the champion change?
Every 24 hours, at midnight in one of two zones the game offers, Europe at UTC+2 or America at UTC-6. After a win, a countdown shows the time to the next champion.

Can I play more than one mode a day?
Yes. The five modes are separate puzzles, and after a win a Next mode prompt leads to the next one until every mode is completed for the day.

Does it show yesterday's answer?
Yes. Under the board, the game names yesterday's champion and shows how many people have already found today's.

Is there a mobile app?
Yes. LoLdle is available on the App Store and the Google Play Store, with an optional daily notification at a time you choose.
