What is Pixeldle?
Pixeldle is a daily video game guessing puzzle. You type game titles into an input field, and the game compares each guess to the hidden answer across five attributes: year, genre, platform, number of players, and developer. Feedback appears in three colors—green for exact match, amber for close, and gray for no match—with ten attempts to find the correct game.
How to play Pixeldle
Enter a game title and submit it. The results show five columns: year, genre, platform, number of players, and developer.
The column colors show how closely your guess matches the answer. Green is an exact match, amber is a close match, and gray means there is no match.
If an amber column contains a value in brackets, that is the specific genre, platform, or other multi-value attribute your guess shares with the answer.
An amber year column may also show an arrow. An upward arrow means the answer was released later, while a downward arrow means it was released earlier. In this column, amber means the difference is three years or less.
Use these clues to choose your next guess. The counter shows how many of your ten attempts remain.
Pixeldle explains what "close" means instead of leaving it vague. For the year, amber signals a gap of at most three years, and an arrow shows the direction. For multi-value columns like genre or platform, brackets mark the exact shared value, so you know which part of your guess overlaps with the answer. This precision changes how you approach each round compared to other attribute games that treat proximity loosely.
Tips for efficient guessing
Start with a game that spans multiple genres and platforms. The more values your opening guess covers, the more information the bracketed feedback will reveal at once. A broad first choice builds a clearer map of the answer's attributes.
Treat the year column as a range tool. Because amber means three years or less and the arrow points you in the right direction, this column narrows possibilities faster than the others. Use it to eliminate whole spans of release dates early.
Popular questions
How many guesses do I get?
Ten. The counter under the input field counts down your remaining attempts.
What does a bracketed value mean?
In columns that contain multiple values, brackets mark the one your guess shares with the answer. For example, if a game has two genres and one appears bracketed, that is the genre the hidden game also has.
What tolerance does the year column allow?
At most three years. When the year column turns amber, the difference between your guess and the answer is three years or fewer. The arrow indicates whether the answer is earlier or later.
