What is PriceTag?
PriceTag is a daily football transfer-fee guessing game hosted on MatchIQ. Each day presents five real completed transfers—player, clubs, and season—and asks you to estimate the reported fee in euros. The scale runs from EUR 0M to EUR 250M, and everyone sees the same five deals.
How to play PriceTag
- Read the transfer card showing the player, selling club, buying club, and season.
- Enter your estimate of the reported transfer fee.
- Submit your guess to see the actual figure and earn points based on accuracy.
- Complete all five deals in the daily set, or start a random run for additional practice.
Scoring and feedback
Points are awarded purely on proximity. The closer your estimate to the reported fee, the higher your score. A perfect or near-perfect guess earns maximum points, and your final score reflects accuracy across all five deals. The target is the widely reported figure rather than an exact contract amount, because clubs rarely publish precise fees.
Game modes
Daily Challenge is the main card, dated and labelled SAME FIVE FEES, with a streak counter. Everyone gets the same five transfers.
Everton PriceTag is a second card on the same page featuring Everton-linked transfers.
Random runs let you play additional rounds outside the daily set. An account is required to unlock random games, view market stats, share seeds, and post scores to the weekly leaderboard.
Strategy for better estimates
Anchor to the era shown on the card, not current prices. The market has grown enormously, so a blockbuster from a decade ago was priced in a different context and should be valued against that season's norms.
Position and league inflate fees. Attacking players almost always cost more than defenders or goalkeepers of similar reputation, and the wealthiest leagues drive prices higher.
Age adds a premium. Clubs pay extra for young players with development potential, so a strong season from a very young player carries a higher fee than the same performance from an experienced veteran.
Account requirements
You do not need an account to play the daily challenge. The account prompt unlocks random runs, market statistics, seed sharing, and leaderboard participation. The weekly leaderboard operates on a dated seven-day window. Your daily attempt starts with your first guess.
