What is Save the Wedding?

A daily wedding seating puzzle. Fix the drama before the wedding starts. Swap guests between tables to clear feuds, seat couples together and keep every table under its drama limit — in as few moves as possible. Three difficulty tiers daily, no account needed.

How to play Save the Wedding

  1. Open the current venue (Rehearsal, The Wedding, or The Grand Ballroom) and read the problem bar. It lists overloaded tables, split couples, and side-by-side feuds.
  2. Examine each guest’s drama number and badge. A higher number makes seating harder. Same-color hearts must sit next to each other; same-color storms must not sit next to each other (across the table is allowed).
  3. Check table totals. The sum of drama scores at any table cannot exceed that table’s limit. An over-capacity table appears in red.
  4. Drag one guest onto another to swap their seats. Every swap costs one move. The par value shows the fewest swaps needed for a clean solution.
  5. Watch the problem count drop. When every table is under its limit, every couple sits together, and no feuding pair sits side-by-side, the layout turns green and the round ends.
  6. Use free hints or restart if stuck. Only the timer and the number of moves you used are recorded.

Understanding the constraints

Three conditions create problems. An overloaded table occurs when the drama total exceeds capacity. A couple kept apart is marked by matching heart badges that are not adjacent. Feuding guests are marked by matching storm badges that sit next to each other. Solving one constraint can create another, so the order of swaps matters.

Matching badges are the only pairing rule. Color identity, not guest names or faces, decides who must stay together or stay apart. Drama numbers are independent of badges; a low-drama guest can still carry a storm badge that forces careful placement.

Tables are circular, so “side-by-side” means immediate neighbors. Guests directly across from each other never trigger a side-by-side rule. Capacity is strict: even a single point over the limit keeps the table red.

Tips for fewer moves

Count the required pairs first. Place every matching-heart couple together before touching other guests; this often frees capacity and removes one problem at once. Treat storm badges next: move one of the pair to any non-adjacent seat, preferably across the table or to another table that still has room.

Watch the running drama totals while you plan. Swapping a high-drama guest into a near-full table can push it over the limit even if the badges look correct. Prefer swaps that both fix a badge rule and reduce a table total.

Par is a guide, not a requirement. Reaching green in more moves still solves the puzzle; the extra moves simply raise the recorded score. Hints reveal one useful swap without adding to the move count, and restarts clear the board without penalty. The only lasting measures are the clock and how cleanly you finished.
