What is Wirespan?

Wirespan is a daily optimization puzzle in which you connect every house to a power plant using the shortest possible wire length. You place or remove towers on open ground to establish connections, then refine your layout to maximize delivered output measured in MW.

How to play Wirespan

  1. Examine the grid to identify the plant, houses, and buildable ground.
  2. Tap any open square to build or remove a tower. Wires form automatically between any two points within two squares of each other.
  3. Continue placing towers until every house receives power from the plant.
  4. Rearrange or remove towers to reduce total wire length and increase the MW output shown in the interface.

Reading the feedback

Three live metrics appear during play: towers built, houses powered, and output in MW. The game rules specify that shorter wires deliver more power. A grid that connects every house can still be improved by shortening the network and raising the MW score.

Tips & strategy

Connect every house first, then optimize. The interface explicitly allows further refinement after all houses are powered.

Use a tower only when it creates a useful two-square connection. Surplus towers can lengthen the network and reduce output.

Popular questions

How do wires connect?
Anything within two squares connects by wire.

Can I practise outside the daily puzzle?
Yes. The Drills area includes Practice with a fresh grid anytime.
