What is Secret Sound?
Secret Sound is a daily audio puzzle that asks one question: what makes this noise? The game shows only a play button, a dotted line placeholder, and a text field for your answer. It is part of BrainSnack, a collection of daily puzzles. Three hints are available behind a button, and a score counter starts at eight out of eight.
How to play Secret Sound
- Press the play button to hear the clip.
- Replay it as often as needed. The game explicitly states unlimited replays.
- Type your answer in the field and submit with Guess.
- Open a hint if listening alone is not enough, or select Give up to reveal the answer.
Why the interface is minimal
Secret Sound removes visual cues entirely. There is no image, answer template, or functional waveform. The dotted line under the player is decorative and provides no useful information. You have to rely on your ear and memory, which makes recognition harder when a sound feels familiar but you cannot name it.
How to use hints and replays
The hint button displays a counter showing that three hints are available. Opening the first one does not use up all your help. Replays are free, so listen several times before using a hint. Pay attention to details around the sound: its duration, background echo, and what happens at the beginning and end.
The dotted line does not display peaks, rhythm, or the clip's actual length. Trying to interpret it wastes time you could spend replaying the audio with fresh attention.
