What is SLYDE?
SLYDE is a daily 3×3 sliding puzzle built from a new photograph. Move tiles into the empty space until the image is restored, then compare your move count against the puzzle's optimal solution.
How to play SLYDE
- Start the day's image puzzle.
- Slide pieces into the empty space to reconstruct the photo.
- Finish within the 75-move limit and compare your result with the displayed optimal count.
Reading the feedback
The board shows moves remaining and the optimal solution length. A hint control and an option to view the complete image are also available during play.
Tips & strategy
Use the image preview to identify a corner or strong edge before repositioning interior pieces. Recognizing fixed reference points reduces trial moves.
Keep one move in reserve while setting up the final row or column. The empty space is the key constraint in any sliding puzzle, and locking yourself out of the last arrangement wastes the entire sequence.
