Sportdle is a directory of daily athlete-guessing games with one streak counter shared across them. Its front page has nineteen sport-specific boards covering basketball, football, esports, MMA, NFL, hockey, motorsport, tennis, and chess.
Each board offers several modes rather than a single template. Motorsport includes Circuits, while esports has three lean options. Progress across every sport you follow counts toward the same streak.
Choose a sport from the directory, then select a mode from the strip at the top of its board. Type a player’s name into the search box. The system accepts only names from its own pool and returns “No results” for anything else. Read the clue row for your guess and use it to refine the next one. Keep going until you identify the hidden athlete or run out of attempts.
Reading the feedback
The site uses a simple grid: green cells indicate a match, red cells indicate a miss, and numeric columns use higher or lower arrows. On the Premier League Classic board, the columns cover club, position, height, season context and birth year. Each clue row narrows the possible answers by showing how your guess compares with the target.
Modes available across boards
Classic is the default mode for every sport. It gives you one hidden athlete, a search box and color-coded clue rows for each guess.
Larger boards, including Premier League, NBA, NHL, NFL, F1 and MotoGP, also offer Grid. Career Path appears on the NBA, NHL, NFL, F1 and MotoGP boards. Stat Line is available on nearly every board in the directory, including esports, and Clue Ladder is offered on nearly all of the same boards.
Team mode is available for club sports: Premier League, NBA, NHL, NFL, EuroLeague and ABA League. Silhouette appears on boards where faces are recognizable, including Premier League, NBA, EuroLeague, F1 and MotoGP. Circuits is limited to the two motorsport boards, F1 and MotoGP.
Each board also has a Challenge a friend button. It lets you choose the athlete your friend must guess, then sends them a link with the answer hidden.
Tips for consistent progress
The mode strip depends on the sport. Tennis, chess and esports offer only Classic, Stat Line and Clue Ladder, while motorsport boards replace team modes with Circuits.
On the Premier League board, the pool is made up of current squads and recent regulars. A long-retired great is usually the wrong kind of guess, even when the clues seem to point that way.
Your progress is stored in the browser, not on an account. Clearing your browser data will erase the streak.
