What is Squridle?
Squridle is a free Pokémon guessing game that works like Wordle. You have nine attempts to identify a mystery Pokémon by typing names and reading color-coded feedback. The page is labeled "Free Play" and includes generation range controls, letting you limit the pool to specific Pokémon eras before starting each round.
How to play Squridle
Set the generation range with the “Guess Pkmn from gen ... to ...” controls to narrow the possible answers. Click “New Game” to begin, then enter a Pokémon name in the “Who’s that Pokémon?” field and press Submit. The feedback row shows which attributes match, which are close, and how to adjust numerical values. You have up to nine guesses per round. When the round ends, click “New Game” to play again without waiting for a daily reset.
Reading the feedback
The emoji key shows how the colors work. Green means the match is correct. Red means the attribute is wrong. Yellow means the Pokémon has that type, but in a different slot. Up and down arrows show whether the guessed number is lower or higher than the target. After nine incorrect guesses, the game reveals the mystery Pokémon.
Site modes
The title bar links to three modes:
Free Play
This is the default mode at the root URL. It includes generation bounds, a New Game button, and unlimited consecutive rounds.
Daily
All players receive the same mystery Pokémon, which resets each day. This mode has no generation range controls or New Game button.
Stats Edition
This mode focuses on numerical Pokémon attributes.
Nine guesses across all Pokémon generations is a very large search space. The generation controls let you focus on the games you have actually played, turning an overwhelming roster into a manageable challenge. This is the key feature that separates Free Play from the Daily mode. Use it to practice reading the feedback system before attempting the Daily puzzle elsewhere.
Tips for faster progress
The generation bounds are your difficulty dial. Set them to cover only the Pokémon you recognize by name, then expand the range as you improve. This is the practice page, so use the New Game button freely to test theories and learn how the feedback arrows guide your next guess.
If you are unfamiliar with the Emoji Key, run a few Free Play rounds before moving to the Daily mode. The Daily version gives one attempt per day, so understanding the feedback here preserves that single guess.
