What is Wardle?
Wardle hides one War Thunder vehicle per day and asks you to identify it through educated guesses. Each guess returns a row of attributes—country, class, speed, crew size, battle rating—with color-coded feedback that narrows the field. The site offers DAILY, GROUND, AIRPLANES, NAVAL, ENDLESS, LEADERBOARDS, CUSTOM and an ONLINE mode marked BETA, letting you draw from the full catalog or restrict yourself to one branch.
How to play Wardle
- Choose a mode: DAILY uses the day’s shared vehicle; GROUND, AIRPLANES, and NAVAL limit the pool to that branch.
- Enter a vehicle name. The game compares it with the hidden target and shows its country, class, speed, crew, and battle rating.
- Green means an exact match, orange means you are close, and red means the value does not match.
- Use the arrows in the numeric columns to narrow the range, then submit another guess.
- Keep guessing until you identify the vehicle or run out of attempts.
Wardle tests your intuition for War Thunder’s tech trees. Recognizing which nation fields a certain class at a given battle rating helps you reconstruct its position in the tree—generation, chassis family and crew configuration—without checking a spec sheet. The split into three branches is the key feature: a player who struggles with cruiser recognition can spend days in Naval mode until the patterns click.
Reading the feedback
The site’s Quick Clue Guide uses four signals: green means the property matches exactly, orange means you are close and should refine your guess, and red means the value does not match and you need to change direction. Up and down arrows on numeric values show which side to search.
Modes
Daily
The vehicle of the day. The selection changes at the UTC reset, and every player gets the same puzzle, making streaks and attempt counts easy to compare.
Ground
Draws are restricted to ground vehicles. The site presents this as a test of intuition about armor and mobility.
Airplanes
Draws are restricted to aviation, with an emphasis on recognizing flight characteristics.
Naval
Draws are restricted to ships, with their own clues and comparisons.
Endless
Play as many consecutive rounds as you like. It is the practice mode for playing without waiting for the next day.
Custom
Custom game options, including sessions limited by mode, country or preset.
Leaderboards
Rankings and profiles showing wins, average guesses, first-try successes and streaks.
Online
A button in the modes bar labeled BETA.
Tips and strategy
Start broad. Identify the nation and class before narrowing the battle rating. A well-chosen common vehicle can tell you more than a highly specific first guess.
Orange means “you are close; refine.” Red means “change direction.” Treating the two colors alike wastes guesses.
Use the arrows in the numeric columns to narrow your range systematically instead of jumping between distant values.
