What is Geodle?
Geodle is a daily geography puzzle site that combines six different game modes under one hub. The anchor mode, Classic, works like a logic table: you guess any country, and the board returns comparison data on continent, distance and direction, population and area. A new answer appears at 00:00 UTC each day and is identical worldwide. An Unlimited toggle sits beside the daily puzzle for practice rounds that track separately.
How to play Geodle
Choose a mode from the tabs, or stay on Classic with Daily enabled. Enter a country in the search field and submit your guess. The feedback row shows whether the continent matches, the distance and direction to the answer, and how the populations and areas compare.
Use those clues to narrow your next guess. Each puzzle allows six attempts. You can switch to the other five modes for the remaining daily puzzles, or turn on Unlimited to practice with random answers.
The six modes
Classic compares your guess with the hidden country by continent, population, area, and distance.
Flag shows a national flag and asks you to identify the country.
Outline shows a country’s map outline for you to identify.
Connections gives you sixteen countries to sort into four themed groups without naming the categories.
Draw scores a freehand drawing of a country’s outline against its actual shape.
Trivia asks ten geography questions about capitals, borders, currencies, languages, and notable people.
Reading the feedback
Each guess adds a row of tiles: continent match, distance, direction, and comparisons for population and area. A strip below the board shows your streak, the puzzle number, six dots representing the day's six modes, and yesterday's answer with its flag.
Strategy for Classic mode
Use bearings to triangulate the answer. Guess a country deep inside a large landmass, note the direction arrow, then guess another far from it. Two crossing bearings locate the target much faster than testing neighbors one at a time.
Check the area tile early. Micro-states like Vatican City appear in the pool, and the area comparison catches that case before you waste guesses on larger countries.
Why play Geodle?
Geodle suits players who prefer reasoning from data over visual recall. Classic rewards triangulation logic rather than geographic memorization. Budget two to three minutes for a single mode or ten to fifteen if you attempt all six. Missed days cannot be recovered—there is no archive, only the Unlimited practice toggle with its own separate board. Leaderboards, badges and XP levels require signing in with Google or Discord; solo players see a plainer interface without those features.
