What is GlobeHoppr?

GlobeHoppr is a geography routing game where you connect two cities by hopping through intermediate cities within a fixed jump radius. The game displays the start city, target city and maximum jump distance before you begin, so the challenge is not guessing the rules but knowing which cities exist between continents and planning a chain that reaches the target in the fewest moves.

How to play GlobeHoppr

  1. Open Daily Puzzle from the home screen, which shows the day’s puzzle number and your current streak.
  2. Check the “Today’s Route” card for the starting city, target city, and jump radius.
  3. Press Start Daily Puzzle to open the map at your starting point. The legend identifies your current city, the target, visited cities, missed cities, and oceanic portals.
  4. Use the “JUMP TO A CITY” field to choose a destination within range. The “In-Range moves” counter shows how many cities you can still reach from your current position.
  5. Continue jumping while keeping an eye on the remaining distance. Reach the target in as few jumps as possible.

GlobeHoppr asks you to build routes between cities. The key locations are often mid-sized towns that mark an ocean crossing or the edge of a desert. You need to plan about three jumps ahead and avoid stopovers that leave the route with nowhere to go.

Reading the feedback panel

The side panel shows the distance to the target, a Turns counter, a Portals counter, an “In-Range moves” counter, and your move history. The Turns and Portals counters both start at zero. Before your first jump, the history says “No moves yet.” After each move, the panel updates the remaining distance and the number of destinations within range of your new position.

Game modes

Daily Puzzle – The numbered route for the day. Reach the target city in as few jumps as possible.

Weekly Challenge – A weekly route played under one special rule, which the menu announces without naming.

Route Reveal – A hidden route revealed one city at a time, following the menu description.

Practice – An additional mode listed in the main menu, with no description on the home page.

Archive – A menu entry alongside the day’s modes for replaying past puzzles.

Tips for fewer jumps

The jump radius is given before you start. Begin by spotting archipelagos and relay towns that make ocean crossings possible, rather than heading straight toward the target. A direct path often dead-ends at a coastline.

Watch the "In-Range moves" counter. When the number of reachable destinations drops sharply after a jump, you have entered a geographic dead end. It is better to know before the next move than to discover it one jump too late.

Settings remember the distance unit and the choice between flat map and globe display. This choice greatly changes how you read transoceanic jumps, so configure it once rather than switching mid-puzzle.

Common questions

Do I need to create an account?
No. The day's game is played as a guest. The site retains a local identifier and the home screen already shows a streak counter.

Can you play anything other than the route of the day?
Yes. The main menu offers a Weekly Challenge, a Route Reveal mode, a Practice mode and an Archive entry alongside the Daily Puzzle.
