What is Rhumdle?
Rhumdle is a geographic bearing game. Each round names an origin and a target city; you turn a compass needle toward the initial bearing of the shortest path between them, lock it in, and are graded by your angular error. Its arcade modes turn this map-reading task into either a time trial, a survival run or a streak chase.
How to play Rhumdle
- Read the origin and target city shown for the round.
- Drag or tap the compass needle to point from City A toward City B along the shortest path.
- Lock in the bearing and read the angular-error grade, points and any time change.
- Continue according to the selected Arcade or Daily Puzzle mode.
Why play Rhumdle?
Rhumdle tests spatial reasoning rather than capital-city recall. Each result shows the angle behind your guess, and its modes reward speed, consistency, or a long streak.
Feedback
Every round receives an accuracy rating:
- Bullseye: 0°, 15 points, and 10 seconds
- Excellent: under 15°, 5 points, and 5 seconds
- Nice: under 30°, 3 points, and 3 seconds
- Close: under 50°, 1 point, and 1 second
- Off: 50° or more, with no points or extra time
Time bonuses apply in Blitz and Survival. Consecutive rounds that are not Off raise the score multiplier to ×2, ×3, and ×4. An Off result ends the combo.
Modes
Blitz uses a timer ranging from 30 seconds to five minutes. Accurate guesses add time, and the goal is to beat the clock.
Survival starts with 30 seconds. Each round takes time, accurate guesses return some of it, and you have one life.
Streak has no clock. Keep guessing until an Off result ends the run, then try to beat your personal best.
Daily Puzzle has its own tab in the game's How to Play panel.
Aim for the initial bearing, not the route’s appearance on a map. Rhumble scores the shortest route between the two cities. In timed modes, a result within 15° earns points and extra seconds. An Off result resets any active combo multiplier.
How Rhumble scores a bearing
Rhumble measures angular error from the exact 0° Bullseye through Excellent, Nice, and Close. An error of 50° or more is Off. Each band has its own point value and, in timed modes, time bonus.
What happens when you are Off
Off awards no points or extra time and breaks the active combo multiplier.
