What is Summit?
Summit is a number-pyramid puzzle in which every disk must equal the sum of the two disks directly below it. All fifteen numbers are already on the board. You swap pairs of disks until the pyramid satisfies the rule. The top disk is locked in place and cannot be moved. A MOVES counter tracks how many swaps you make.
How to play Summit
- Identify the locked top disk, shown in a different color from the rest.
- Tap two disks to swap their positions.
- Verify that each disk equals the sum of the two disks supporting it from below.
- Continue swapping until the entire pyramid obeys the constraint.
- Check the MOVES counter to see how many swaps you used.
Work downward from the fixed top
The locked top is the only certainty. Calculate which two numbers in the row below must add up to it, then continue down the pyramid layer by layer. Negative numbers allow a parent disk to be smaller than its children, so traditional pyramid intuition does not apply. A large number does not necessarily belong near the base.
Tips for fewer moves
Plan swaps mentally before committing. Each swap increments the counter, so test combinations on paper or in your head rather than guessing and correcting. If a disk near the bottom is moved, every disk above it may need recalculation. Verify a pair of supporting disks and their sum before making the swap.
Understand the feedback
The page shows one default puzzle with no mode selector or alternate layouts. The MOVES counter starts at zero and increases with each swap. Two buttons appear below the pyramid: "Hint" and "I'm done." The locked top remains visibly distinct throughout. No attempt limit is enforced.
