What is SUMS?
SUMS is a mathematical logic puzzle that combines number placement with spatial reasoning. You fill empty cells by placing numbers in strict ascending order—1, then 2, then 3, and so on—until the grid is complete. Black cells block portions of the board, and a few numbers are pre-placed to guide your path. Two formats exist: Mini at 5 × 5 and the full version at 7 × 7, each numbered separately with daily puzzles.
How to play SUMS
- Select your board size from the home screen: Mini SUMS for 5 × 5 or full SUMS for 7 × 7.
- Place numbers one by one in ascending order starting from 1 until all empty cells are filled.
- Check the "Next" indicator in the header, which shows the number you must place next.
- Use "Undo" to correct mistakes, "Clear" to restart the entire puzzle, or "Hint" when stuck.
Why SUMS simplifies the puzzle
SUMS removes the decision of which number to place. The sequence is fixed and displayed, leaving only the question of where to place it. A status line above the grid displays a timer, the next number to place, and two continuous values labeled "Current" and "Last".
