What is Tally?
Tally is a number puzzle game where you combine four given numbers using arithmetic operators to reach a target value. The board shows an orange target bubble in the center, four blue number tiles arranged in a ring, and a shuffle button. Each level asks you to find multiple ways to reach the same target. The game tracks progress with coins and gems, offers companions to collect, and includes daily challenges alongside a main level progression.
How to play Tally
- Tap a number, then an operator (plus, minus, times, or divided), then another number to build an equation.
- Watch the equation bar update in real time. When your result matches the target, the game records it automatically without a submit button.
- Find as many different combinations as the level requires. Bubbles at the top right mark each way you discover.
- Use the shuffle button (or press S) to rearrange the numbers if the ring layout makes patterns hard to see.
- Clear the level by filling all required bubbles. Extra solutions beyond the quota award bonus coins.
Order of operations matters
The game follows standard math rules: multiplications and divisions execute before additions and subtractions. This means typing the same sequence of keys left to right may not produce the result you expect. For example, 2 + 3 × 4 calculates as 2 + 12, not 20. Check the equation bar as you type to see the evaluated result.
Reading the feedback
Tally monitors syntax while you build an equation. The bar shows a partial result and updates after each input. If you make a mistake, a message like "Add an operator first" appears below the board. Two buttons, Undo and Clear, sit on the equation bar, with keyboard shortcuts ⌫ and Esc respectively. The bubbles at the top right fill as you find distinct ways to reach the target.
Game modes and economy
The Play tab shows numbered levels, each with a target and a required number of solutions. The Map tab follows the same progression. The Daily tab has a separate challenge, records the date you last visited it, and displays a red dot. The Shop tab sells companions using the two currencies shown in the purse banner. One equipped companion remains visible in the corner of the board. The Hint button shows a price of 25, but does not say whether it costs coins or gems.
Look for multiplication or division paths first. They often create larger jumps toward the target and leave the remaining numbers easier to arrange. If you find one solution quickly, the second usually requires seeing the same ring from a different angle. The shuffle button is free and sometimes reveals a combination the circular layout obscured.
