What is TheTransitTrail?
TheTransitTrail drops you at a real location and assigns a destination on the other side of the world. You must reach it by selecting actual flights and buses that depart from your current stop. Each location displays its outgoing connections in a dropdown, and the challenge is identifying which route continues forward rather than which stop appears closest on the map.
How to play TheTransitTrail
- Select Easy, Medium, or Hard, then tap New Game.
- Check the header for your current location on the left and the destination on the right. The map points toward the target.
- Open the Flights dropdown to see outgoing connections and choose one. Some stops also offer a bus dropdown.
- After each leg, review the updated current location, outgoing connection count, route drawn on the map, and accumulated TIME. Continue selecting connections until you arrive at the destination.
Why play TheTransitTrail?
TheTransitTrail asks you to plan routes rather than guess places. Each stop shows its actual departures, so a route that seems to make progress can leave you at a regional airport with only two outgoing flights. The difficulty selector, time readout, and leaderboard make speed part of the game. New Game deals a fresh city pair immediately.
Reading the feedback
When you choose a connection, it appears on the map as a route leg. Current Location changes to the new stop, Flights shows its outgoing connections, and your previous location becomes a return marker. The map keeps pointing toward the destination, while TIME advances by the flight duration shown beside the connection.
Modes
The difficulty selector is beside New Game, and the current setting appears on the board. The available modes are Easy, Medium, and Hard, but the page does not explain how they differ.
The number on the Flights button is your read on the stop before you open it. A single digit means you are on a spur and may only have your arrival route as an exit. A two-digit count means you are in a hub and can afford a detour.
When the flight list is thin, check for the bus dropdown below it. It only appears at certain stops and is easy to miss next to the plane icon.
