What is AnimeGrids?
AnimeGrids is a 3×3 grid game where each cell must satisfy a row clue and a column clue by naming an anime that fits both. The game displays how many animes match each intersection before you search, then scores your choice by rarity: the percentage of players who used the same anime for that cell. A lower percentage means a rarer selection. A streak counter tracks consecutive correct grids.
How to play AnimeGrids
- Read the three column clues and three row clues. Each cell calls for an anime that matches the two clues crossing there.
- Open a cell to view the intersection, the number of valid anime titles, and a search field.
- Search for an anime title and submit it. If it is correct, the title locks into the grid.
- Check the rarity percentage for each cell. As more players complete their grids, select “Refresh rarity” to recalculate the percentages.
- Fill all nine cells to complete the grid and keep your streak.
Rarity scoring trades safety for distinction
AnimeGrids shows how many anime fit an intersection before you commit. You can choose an obvious title and accept a high rarity percentage, or search the catalog for an obscure match that fewer players are likely to use. The streak counter makes each risky choice matter: a rare answer may improve your score, but a wrong one can end your streak.
Reading the feedback
An answer is either correct or incorrect. A valid anime locks into its cell. The rarity percentage shows how many players chose the same anime for that cell, so lower percentages mean rarer choices. The banner displays your streak, and the selector shows how many anime fit the open intersection before you search.

Tips for better rarity and safer streaks
Check the pool size before choosing play order. An intersection with many possible animes is where rarity is earned. A narrow intersection is where you should use the safest title to protect your streak.
Rarity percentages shift throughout the day as more players complete the grid. Use the "Refresh rarity" button to see updated numbers. A percentage checked in the morning will differ from one checked at night.
The grid changes at midnight Eastern Time, not at midnight in your time zone. If you are in a different zone, the new grid can appear in the middle of your day and break an active streak without warning.
