Hollywoodle is a movie guessing game built around a heavily blurred film poster. Only the main color shapes remain, and you identify the movie using that image, its release year, and genre clues. The interface has a blurred poster, a hint card with the year and genre, and a search field for submitting your answer.
To play, examine the blurred poster and use the year and genre hints to work out which film it shows.
The page opens directly into the game, without a welcome screen. Choose a mode from the tabs at the top: DAILY, marked with a calendar icon and selected by default, or UNLIMITED, marked with an infinity symbol.
The poster on the left starts heavily blurred, leaving only its color composition visible. On the right, the RELEASE YEAR & GENRE card provides the only written clue. Enter a movie title in the bottom search field, labeled “Search for a movie…”.
Below the poster, a six-segment bar tracks your attempts. One segment lights up at the start, while the others stay dark until you use them.
The poster and bar provide all feedback. When you submit a film that is in the database but is incorrect, one segment is used and the blur lifts slightly. The hint card stays the same. If the text does not match a film in the database, nothing changes: no segment is used and no blur lifts. There is no attempt counter or countdown.

Daily
The left tab, marked with a calendar icon, is active when the page loads. Daily progress is stored locally by date.
Unlimited
The second tab has an infinity symbol and lets you play as many rounds as you want.
Tips for solving the puzzle
Check the RELEASE YEAR & GENRE card before studying the poster. The year and genre together narrow the possibilities faster than trying to interpret a fully blurred image.
At the first blur stage, focus on the dominant colors and the distribution of light and dark areas. The palette can remain clear even when the composition and shapes do not.

No. The page has only DAILY and UNLIMITED buttons, and daily progress is stored in your browser.
